About me
Well…. I’ll start from when I was a kid (so you can skip this part if you not interested or in a hurry) I grew up without a TV, which was probably one of the biggest influences on how I grew up. At the time I hated it, and even now I still sometimes have no idea what people are talking about when they reminisce about their favorite old tv shows. But Im glad that I wasn’t raised by a tv, I had a big yard with lots of trees to climb and a sand box bigger than my room that would keep me entertained for hours. My parents always took us out into the wilderness, skiing, hiking camping and canoeing. We once flown into a chain of lakes and picked up three weeks later. All the food we had was planned from the start, at one point we ran low and were stuck drinking the pasta water to get enough energy. But they are all experiences I’m now grateful for and I wish I go back do them again. I still love the outdoors and try to go out as much as possible, especially ski touring in the spring. Since my family is from Switzerland I went there a lot during most of many of the summers, but those were mostly family trips and are mostly boring to talk about) When I was 16 I went to Costa Rica by myself for 5 weeks to learn Spanish, I stayed with families in 3 different parts of the country. One of the families lived around the poverty line, yet they were as happy and closer as a family as the wealthy families I stayed with. Of all the people I met there, they are the one s that I have the best memories of. I learnt a lot about myself on that trip and it is still a huge influence on my life, I would recommend to anyone that they should go traveling by themselves while their young if they can. After that trip, at the start of the next school year I met Letitia, who I couldn’t say enough about and I couldn’t possibly describe how much she has influenced me. We have been dating for almost 5 years now and have been through many experiences. Whatever happens along our individual paths I know that I would never forget her. We both go to university in Victoria, where I’m taking my marine biology degree. I don’t really know what I’m going to do with the degree or if I’m going to use it, although the Vancouver aquarium has had some openings lately for a mammal trainer which could be fun. During second year when I moved into my own place I really started to like cooking, which my parents made sure to teach us, and I thought I should give being a chef a chance once I grad from Uvic, which I still intend to do. Now I am looking forward and planning my trip to Chile in November. I really want to expand on my photography hobby while Im there. Well…that’s a very brief summary of some of the events that have shaped my life, I hope it was worth reading.
